Carl The Bee Man: Save 'em Don't Spray 'em!

Bees are currently declining at an alarming rate

..and what better way to help reduce this than to educate the next generation of bee keepers!

Carl the Bee Man came to visit us at our Inspire Crestwood centre to teach us all about the importance of bees. The children were very excited to see Carl and what he had brought to the centre.

Carl taught us all about what it’s like to be a bee keeper, specifically the importance of staying safe and protected around bees - we even go to try on the special protective bee clothing! Carl had also brought along some of his bees in their travel bee hives, along with some honey combs. We learnt all about how about honey, and the process of making it!

The children were able to get all of their question answered, there were especially lots of questions about the Queen Bee and what happens when you get stung. We want to extend a big thank you to Carl for taking the time to come out and educate the children, we’re looking forward to seeing him again and learning more in the future.

And remember.. “Save ‘em Don’t Spray ‘em!”
